YMA Awards Gala to Stream Online
For the first time, the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence gala will be webcast live.
To be held Thursday, May 31 2012 at Montreal’s Maison de Radio-Canada, YMA reports that the gala event will be streamed online at http://www.radio-canada.ca/
At the annual gala, YMA celebrates the outstanding achievements that have made Canada a world leader in the production and delivery of screen-based content for young viewers.

In addition to the awards presentations, the evening will feature special numbers, tributes, and a look at the next generation of content producers!
Host Vincent Bolduc will pull out all the stops to salute excellence in French-language youth production. “Our industry is bursting with talented people and I’m delighted to be celebrating with the family!” said Bolduc
A total of 11 awards will be handed out:
• Grand Prize
• Award of Excellence – Acquisition of Knowledge and Critical Thinking Skills
• Award of Excellence – Advancement of Personal Growth and Self-Transcendence
• Award of Excellence – Openness and Respect
• Award of Excellence – Stimulation of Imagination and Creativity
• Award of Excellence – Best Digital Production
• Award of Excellence – Best Convergent Project
• Kids’ Choice Award
• Parents’ Choice Award
• Outstanding Achievement Award to Lucie Léger, Director of Children’s and Family Programming, Télé-Québec
• Emerging Talent Award to Vicky Bounadère, Partner and Producer, Productions Passez Go
For more than 37 years, Youth Media Alliance has been recognizing the importance of quality television and interactive contents for Canadian kids.
The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) is conducting the largest study to date on Canadian children's programming, with an eye to better understanding the media's impact on our young people. This groundbreaking national study is led by the Université de Montréal communications department's Centre for Youth and Media Studies, under the supervision of Dr. André H. Caron, Ed. D.
