FX Canada, a new digital specialty channel, will launch this November

Rogers Media and FX Networks have finalized a deal to bring the FOX entertainment channel to Canada, as announced by Rogers Media President of Broadcasting, Scott Moore, and Eric Schrier, Executive Vice President of FX Productions and Head of Series Development for FX.

FX Canada will launch on November 1 as a digital service, airing FX original series, U.S. acquired movies and series, original Canadian programming, and Canadian sports events.

"FX complements Rogers Media's strong portfolio of broadcast assets such as Citytv, OLN and Rogers Sportsnet and showcases our commitment to building upon our television business," Moore described, citing the new series American Horror Story, which will debut in the United States on Oct. 5, with the first Canadian screenings likely to be on CityTV before moving to FX Canada after the Nov. 1 launch.
