CRTC Calls for Input on Closed Captioning | Mediacaster Magazine - Broadband & Content: The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is calling for comments about the use and application of closed captioning on Canadian television broadcasts.
The Commission notes that all English-language television licensees will be required to adhere to these closed captioning standards, once approved by the Commission, through conditions of licence that have been or will be imposed at the time of licence renewal or approval of a broadcasting licence for a new service. French language standards will be considered in a separate process.
