Projet Montreal attacks misuse of funds

The Quebec government must “define some rules” that would govern how municipal taxpayer subsidies for research and secretarial services can be spent by the parties that get them in Quebec’s larger cities, Richard Bergeron, leader of Projet Montréal, said Wednesday.

Simultaneously, he added, those subsidies “should be cut in half.”
In 2010, the subsidies amounted to $1.4 million for the three parties with elected seats in Montreal, divvied up on a proportional basis.
