HAMILTON – Not even the return of veteran quarterback Anthony Calvillo was enough on this night.

Calvillo returned to the Alouettes’ lineup after missing most of their last game with blurred vision in his right eye. Wide-receiver Kerry Watkins made his 2011 debut, and even offensive-tackle Josh Bourke returned to protect Calvillo’s blindside. And yet, it wasn’t enough.

Montreal produced only two touchdowns and came up short for the second consecutive week, losing 34-26 to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Friday night before 24,068 Ivor Wynne Stadium spectators. It marked the first of four regular-season meetings between the division rivals, along with the first time the Als faced Avon Cobourne, their former tailback.
